Comms Functions
Process Value Bias
The Process Value Bias allows the measured object temperature (PV) to be offset on the PV display to compensate for errors due to common difficulties in sensor location. Some instruments also feature a Sensor Bias for precise calibration of the sensor to the controller.

Remote Setpoint Signal
A range of analogue current or voltage signals are available for external setpoint selection. When this option is specified it is possible ration and/or bias the setpoint with respect to the input range.

Bar Graph Display
Some instruments feature a Bar Graph Display which provides an indication of the control output status, deviation between set and process values or the valve position.

Digital Input Contacts
Volt Free contacts allow the remote selection of simple functions such as setpoint 1 to 2 change or Run/Stop control. Digital contacts fitted to process controllers can additionally select functions such as remote/local setpoint selection, auto/manual control or computer/local control.

Analogue Retransmission
Additional analogue output signals are available for control or retransmission. If a retransmission output is specified, the range and type of signal may be selected from: process value, set value, remote set value, deviation, control output or valve position (available signals depend on instrument type).

Memory Area Function
Our multi channel temperature controllers and process controllers are supplied with 2, 8 or 16 memory areas depending on the model type. Each area can store setpoint, alarm and PID control values.

Temperature alarms are an option on all our indicators, controllers, programmers and systems. When an alarm is specified, it may be configured for a wide range of alarm actions for temperature, set value or process loop break. In addition, on some of our instruments, Heater Break Alarm is also available.

Standard Autotuning
Standard autotuning is available on our range of controllers and programmers. When selected, autotuning performs several ‘process cycles’ in On/Off control before automatically determining the correct P, I and D terms.

Continuous Self Tuning
Continuous Self Tuning is also a standard feature on our Temperature Controller range and is initiated at start up or when process conditions change.

Brilliant™ PID
Brilliant™ PID is available on our range of Process Controllers and System Modules. Dual control algorithms are used to enable the instrument to quickly respond to setpoint and process changes effectively. The user may also select the response to a setpoint change to give a fast, medium or slow action depending on the accuracy required.

Programmer Features
These are just some of the features available on our comprehensive range of temperature and process controllers:

PID Level Control
PID level control allows the user to select up to four groups of PID control parameters ensuring optimum control is achieved over a wide range of setpoints. The transition from one group to the next is programmable.

Wait Zone Function
The programmable ‘waiting zone’ prevents the progress of the programme into the next segment until the process value value is within the zone. This ensures that the product is soaked at temperature for the complete duration of the dwell segment.

Process Value Start
The PV Start function measures the application temperature and automatically starts the process from this value.

Programme End Output
At the end of a programme an output may be specified for a set time period to facilitate post-processing.

Programme Memory
Our range of programmers/controllers offer a programme storage facility from 2 programmes (8 segments per programme) up to 16 programmes (16 segments per programme). Any segment may be set for ramp or dwell period as required.

Programme Linking
To extend the number of segments in a programme a number of programmes can be linked together. On programmers with 16 patterns it is possible to link various combinations and repeat as required.
